#CUWStatsInfo: Men's Soccer hat tricks since the 2003 season

MEQUON, Wis. - Scoring a hat trick is an impressive accomplishment for any soccer player. Since the 2003 season the Concordia University Wisconsin men's soccer team has eight players who have tallied three or more goals in a game. The Falcons have recorded 17 hat tricks over that time, with two of those student-athletes accomplishing the feat on more than one occasion.

This season CUW has already posted two hat tricks. Freshman Gavin Winston (Park Forest, Ill.) hadn't scored a goal until he netted three in a match versus Lakeland College on Sept. 25. Sophomore Ryan Carey (Appleton, Wis.) had two career goals before netting his hat trick Oct. 9 against Rockford University.

Below is a breakdown of each player who scored three or more goals while donning the CUW jersey.

Brian Nord

Nord certainly had a knack for scoring, as he recorded nine hat tricks in his four seasons (2004-2007) with the Falcons. Nord tallied a personal-best four goals on two separate occasions, once against Rockford in 2006 and again versus Concordia University Chicago in 2007. Nord recorded five hat tricks during his senior season, a year where he finished with 30 goals.

Peter Schreiber
Schreiber is the only other Falcon since the 2003 season to record multiple hat tricks, tallying two in the 2004 season. He scored three times in matches against Carroll University and versus Lakeland College. From 2003-05 Schreiber scored 51 goals, including 22 during the 2004 campaign.

Trevor Hess
Hess is the only other Falcon besides Nord to score four goals in a match since the 2003 season. He recorded his lone hat trick versus Concordia Chicago on Sept. 29, 2007. The Falcons offense was in full force that day as it was one of the two matches in which Nord scored four goals as well.

Enrique Alvarado
Alvarado scored three goals during his freshman campaign in 2008 and all three came against Concordia Chicago on Sept. 28. Alvarado would go on to score 10 goals in his four-year career, while also playing goalkeeper during the 2011 season.

Jacob Pope
Current Falcon and team captain Jacob Pope (Muskego, Wis.) was one of two players to record a hat trick during the 2012 season. Pope netted his milestone on Sept. 15 against Concordia Chicago, a team that has been victim to five of the Falcons 17 hat tricks since 2003. Pope has 15 career goals, including a personal-best eight in 2012.

Keegan Van Dusseldorp
Van Dusseldorp (Burlington, Wis.) recorded five goals during his freshman season in 2012. His career day came against Maranatha Baptist Bible College on Sept. 27. Van Dusseldorp has already topped his freshman season this fall as he is tied for the team lead in goals with six.

Gavin Winston
Winston became the seventh Falcon to record a hat trick since the 2003 campaign when he pushed in three goals on Sept. 25 against Lakeland. That match got Winston going as he now has six goals in 2013.

Ryan Carey
The Falcons offense was on display in a 10-1 win over Rockford this season. Carey scored three times, his first three goals of the season, to help CUW dismantle the Regents.
