Champions Dinner highlights athletic success
MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin recognized six athletic programs for their success over the past year during a special Champions Dinner on Sunday night. The event, hosted by President Rev. Dr. Patrick T. Ferry and his wife Dr. Tammy Ferry, gave Falcon student-athletes and teams a night to reflect on their hard work, dedication and commitment to being the best in their respective sport.
Guest speaker and Concordia Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Famer Tim Polasek talked about having a compete and improve attitude. The former quarterback held numerous records for the football program and is currently the offensive line coach at Iowa. He also discussed being improvement driven, staying focused, having a sense of urgency and staying consistent.
Recognized at the event were Men's Tennis (2018 NACC regular season and NACC Tournament Champions), Women's Tennis (2018 NACC Tournament Champions), Acrobatics & Tumbling (2018 NCATA participant in Pyramid Event Heat 3 (Open)), Men;s Basketball (2018-19 NACC regular season co-champions), along with the following Track & Field student-athletes Samual Spranger (2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships 400-meter dash participant), Jennifer Miller (2018 NACC Outdoor pole vault), Craig Reese (2018 NACC Outdoor 10,000-meter run), Cassandra Sprotte (2018 NACC Outdoor 800-meter run), Nora Imperl (2018 NACC Outdoor 3,000-meter steeplechase), Silas Hasselbrook (2018 NACC Outdoor 110-meter hurdles), Gavin Falotico (2018 NACC Outdoor javelin throw), Jennifer Miller (2019 NACC Indoor pole vault), Craig Reese (2019 NACC Indoor 5,000-meter run) and Grant Johnson (2019 NACC Indoor pole vault).
