Champions Dinner displays achievements of athletic programs
MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin recognized 11 athletic programs for their achievements on the playing field over the past year during a special Champions Dinner on Sunday night.
The event, hosted by President Rev. Dr. Patrick T. Ferry and his wife Dr. Tammy Ferry, gave Falcon student-athletes and teams a night to reflect on their hard work, dedication and commitment to being the best in their respective sport.
The dinner was highlighted by guest speaker David Cooks – an assistant coach on Men's Basketball team and professional speaker – who spoke on his four things in life that are important in winning: leadership, communication, chemistry and competing.
Recognized at the event were Men's Lacrosse (2017 MLC regular season champions), Women's Lacrosse (2017 MWLC regular season champions), Men's Tennis (2017 NACC regular season and tournament champions), Women's Tennis (2018 NACC regular season champions, 2017 NACC Tournament champions), Women's Cross Country (2017 NACC Championship), Women's Golf (2017 NACC Championship), Men's Soccer (2017 NACC regular season champions), Women's Volleyball (2017 NACC regular season champions), Shooting Sports (2018 SSSF champions in Optic Rifle), Dance (2017 Mileaukee Championship, 2018 CIT Championship), Gavin Falotico (2017 All-American in the javelin throw) Taylor Corkum (2018 NACC Indoor Pole Vault), Grant Johnson (2018 NACC Indoor Pole Vault) Craig Reese (2018 NACC Indoor 3,000-meter run), Gavin Falotico (2017 NACC Outdoor javelin throw), Damon Nick (2017 NACC Outdoor 400-meter hurdles), Cassandra Sprotte (2017 NACC Outdoor 800 and 1,500-meter runs), Nora Imperl (2017 NACC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Meet, 3,000-meter steeplechase), Corkum (2017 NACC Outdoor pole vault) and Colleen Sauvey (2017 NACC Outdoor hammer throw).
