MEQUON, Wis. – The 2018-19 athletic year was another successful one for the Concordia Wisconsin Athletic Department. The Falcons won and contended for conference championships in many sports and put together an impressive list of great achievements. As in years past, the Department of Athletic Communications tries to sort through all the great moments and give you, the fans, top stories from the past year.

The list of stories was compiled by the Department of Athletic Communications and, like all lists, is subject to debate. The top stories will be revealed over the next three weeks, with a story being released on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The top story will be released on June 20.

Honorable Mention

Acrobatics and Tumbling continues to shine

If you look through the archives for the Acrobatics and Tumbling program you'll notice several things; the scores are getting higher each season, the victories are adding up and they sent all three heats to the NCATA National Championship this past April. More so, they finished fourth in the Open Pyramid with a score of 9.775, the highest finish on the national stage in program history.

Concordia Wisconsin's Acrobatics and Tumbling just completed its fifth season as a program and each season it accomplishes something bigger and better. After sending one group to the NCATA National Championship in a pyramid event during the 2018 season, they earned a spot in all three Pyramid Events during the 2019 campaign.

Along with the fourth-place finish in the Open Pyramid the Falcons placed sixth in the Synchronized Pyramid and seventh in the Inversion Pyramid.

Since its inception as the 24th sport at Concordia Wisconsin, the Falcon have raised the standard of excellence each season. They have won a program-best five wins during the 2017 season, hosted multi-national champions in Baylor and Oregon and traveled all across the country. Announced on Monday, Acrobatics and Tumbling took a step forward by being recommended by the NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics (CWA) that all three divisions of the NCAA governance structure add Acrobatics and Tumbling to the NCAA Emerging Sports for Women program.
