CUWFalcons.com launches digital game programs

Mequon, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin's Athletic Department is supporting the University's commitment to becoming a more eco-friendly and sustainable higher educational institution. CUWFalcons.com is proud to launch digital game programs for the three remaining football games, men's and women's basketball, as well as all spring sports.
"We print a lot of game programs throughout the course of the athletic year," Director of Athletic Communications Steven Schauer said. "We know our fans appreciate and have come to love the information they are provided in a printed game program. However, the amount of paper and ink that is wasted after each game is difficult to justify from dollars and cents stand point. The Athletic Department is committed to joining the University's eco-friendly and sustainability efforts from this point forward."
The digital game programs will be available online the morning of each home event and will appear in a PDF format. This document will contain the same look that the printed program offers, but will have interactive links for rosters, statistics and other information. Fans entering a home event on CUW's campus will see a Digital Game Program sign near the entrance. On this sign, fans are encouraged to access an internet browser and navigate to the digital game program or can use a QR (quick response) reader on their mobile device.
A QR Code is a two-dimensional, black and white square designed to be read by smartphones with a QR Code Reader app, which can be downloaded from your devices app store. Fans that don't wish to use the QR code can type CUWFalcons.com/programs directly into their browser to access that game's digital program.
CUW event staff will assist fans in accessing the digital programs until it becomes more familiar. The digital game program will be available each morning of a home game, so fans who wish to download or print the program before traveling to CUW can do so.
"There is going to be an adjustment period for some fans and we understand this, and our event staff will assist as need to ease the transition until people become familiar with the digital game program," said Schauer. "We know our fans support CUW's eco-friendly and sustainability efforts, and hope they support the Athletic Communications effort in providing a quality digital game program."
The expectation is that the digital game program will be used for football, men's and women's soccer, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, wrestling, men's and women's lacrosse, acrobatics & tumbling, baseball and softball. Due to limited cell phone service at the Ozaukee Ice Center, printed programs will continue.
