Campos nets Male Career Achievement Award

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Athletic Department has announced that Diego Campos, a four-year standout for the Men's Soccer program, has been chosen for the 2015-16 Male Career Achievement Award.

CUWFalcons.com will be releasing the department's four major awards from the 2015-16 season over the next several weeks. Last week, CUW announced Carley Pfannerstill as the Female Career Achievement Award recipient. The next couple of weeks will feature the Female and Male Athletes of the Year. The awards are selected by a small committee of coaches and athletic department personnel.

The career achievement award winners are student-athletes who must have participated in a sport at CUW for four years. Each Falcons team can nominate one student-athlete.

Campos (Milwaukee, Wis.) completed an impressive four seasons with the Falcons in the fall of 2015. He saved his best for last in 2015, helping lead CUW to a NACC Regular Season Championship. In addition, the midfielder was named to the NSCAA Division III Men's All-Central Region Second Team, as well as being a First Team All-NACC selection.

Campos was a four-year All-Conference player for the Falcons, including being a First Team selection in 2012 and 2015, while being named to the Second Team in 2013 and 2014.

He was a player who helped set others up often throughout his career, recording 35 assists in four seasons. That included a career-best 14 in 2015. His 35 assists were the most for any Falcons player during the NACC era (2006-present), while it also ranks near the top in all-time program history. His assist total was also fifth-most on the NACC career ranks. 

Campos added 10 goals throughout his career, scoring three in each of his final three seasons. He played in 67 matches over his career and started 63 of those, while starting 18 contests in 2015.

He helped lead the Falcons double-digit win totals in three of his four seasons, including 15 his senior campaign. In addition, the Falcons posted a 9-1 NACC record, capturing their first NACC Regular Season Championship. CUW was 28-10-3 in conference games during the last four seasons, and sported a 43-30-7 overall record.
