Falcon stat of the week, by the numbers

STAT OF THE WEEK (72) – Concordia University Wisconsin freshman golfer Nina Puch shot an even-par 72 during the third round of the NCAA Division III Championships. Her 72 was the best of the third day and also tied for the lowest round of the tournament. The only other player to card a 72 in the field was eventual champion Laura Lindsey of the University of Texas at Tyler, who accomplished the feat in each of her first two rounds. Puch (Des Plaines, Ill.) finished tied for 62nd in the individual standings.

3 – Men's Tennis competed in the NCAA Tournament this season for the third straight year. CUW fell to Ohio Northern University, 5-0, in their opening round match. The Falcons posted a perfect NAC record for the third straight season and defeated MSOE, 5-0, in the NAC Tournament Championship back on May 4.

4:01.57 – Men's Track & Field wrapped up its 2013 season Friday as junior Martin Hinze (Bourbonnais, Ill.) and freshman Tyler White (Milwaukee, Wis.) competed at the Gregory Final Qualifier. Hinze competed in the 1,500-meter run, where he clocked in at 4:01.57, finishing just two seconds off his personal-best time.

11 – The Women's Tennis team won 11 games during the 2012-2013 season, which marked the fourth straight season the program has reached double-digit victories. The Falcons advanced to the NAC Tournament semifinals, which included an opening round match win over Aurora University, 5-0 on April 29.

20 – CUW Softball had an outstanding 2013 campaign, especially at the plate where the Falcons ranked nationally in several categories. CUW scored 6.91 runs per game, ranking 20th in the country, while also posting the 28th best slugging percentage (.487). The Falcons also belted .76 home runs per game, ranking 32nd in the country. Senior Cara Landherr (Waukesha, Wis.) wrapped up her career with impressive numbers as well, driving in 1.27 runs per game, which ranked 10th in all of Division III. Landherr also hit .29 home runs per contest, ranking 21st.

27 – Baseball wrapped up its season at the Northern Athletics Conference Tournament May 10, and to no surprise the game was played at Kapco Park. Since returning from playing its opening nine games in Florida, the Falcons concluded the year with 27 of 33 games played at Kapco Park. CUW posted a 15-12 record on its own park, helping them secure a spot in the NAC Tournament for the third time if four years.

51.33 – Women's Track & Field finished its 2013 May 3-4 at the NAC Outdoor Championships. The Falcons scored 51.33 points for a fifth-place finish, which included a second-place finish from junior Kristin Sitte (Greenfield, Wis.) in the 400-meter hurdles.

79 – As a team at the NCAA Championships, Women's Golf recorded 79 pars during four rounds of play. Puch led the team with 35 pars, while also scoring a birdie on six holes throughout the week. Freshman Emily Stephenson (Ashland, Wis.) sunk 18 pars, while freshman Lexi Westphal (Brownsville, Wis.) added 16 and also had a birdie during her third round. Freshman Emmy Dill (Bristol, Wis.) added six total pars, including a personal-best four in her final round, while freshman Madalyn Joannes (Wauwatosa, Wis.) recorded four throughout the tournament.
