CUW announces incoming student-athletes

MEQUON, Wis. -- Concordia University Wisconsin is pleased to announce the latest group of incoming student-athletes for the 2016-17 athletic year. The NCAA passed legislation for Division III which allows incoming student-athletes to sign a celebratory form to show they have committed to a respective institution and athletic program.

This list of student-athletes of have an accepted deposit at CUW, signed the form and their respecitive coach had submitted information to CUWFalcons.com.

Kennedy Boyer Field Hockey Saline, Mich. Saline
Kennedy will join the Falcons as goalie for their inaugural season in the fall of 2016...She was a member of the Saline High School Varsity Field Hockey team where she helped lead her team to the Michigan State Division 2 Final Four in 2014 and won the Championship in 2015... Honorable Mention All State in 2014 and First Team All State in 2015...Won the Woody Merchant Award in 2014 for Outstanding Female Athlete...Also been a member of Pinnacle Field Hockey Club where she participated in the Regional Club Championships in 2014 and 2015 and JPOL's where her U19 team was Regional Champions in 2016...Also a member of Saline High School Varsity Lacrosse (Right in picture below).
 
Brianna Buehler Field Hockey Hartland, Wis. Arrowhead
Brianna will join the Falcon Field Hockey team as defender for their inaugural season this fall...She was a member of the Arrowhead Varsity field hockey team for three years and helped lead her team to State Championships in 2013 and 2015, and runner up in 2014...All-Conference as a defender in 2014...Also a member of Milwaukee Field Hockey Club for four years, competing with the U16 and U19 teams...Academically, she has earned Honor Roll all four years and was a member of Key Club where she volunteered for various events. 
       
Sophia O'Connor Field Hockey Saline, Mich. Saline
Sophia O'Connor will be joining the Falcons as a defender on the inaugural field hockey team in the fall of 2016...She was team captain and part of the defensive unit on her high school team which won the State Championship in 2015 and only allowed 3 goals all season...Academically, she was on the honor roll all four years and a part of the Connecting program that helped with special needs students in the community...Was also secretary of the Missionary Benevolent Association for four years...Ran track all four years of high school and was a senior leader to the sprint group (Middle in picture below).
       
Antonio Gurrola-Flores Men's Soccer Sheboygan, Wis. Sheboygan South

Played for North Shore SC and Sheboygan South High School...Captain of high school team junior and senior year...Team MVP, Second Team All-Conference, and All-Area senior year. 

       
Edson Suaste Men's Soccer Mundelein, Ill. Mundelein
Lettered and started three years on varsity...Senior Varsity captain...One Illinois state cup championship...USYS regional semifinalist, two-time National League Participant with club FC 1974.
