CUW Valorant Ends a Solid Season

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW Valorant team made some noise in the National Esports Collegiate Conference during their Spring and Fall semesters after having to move up a division after a solid Fall. The Blue and White were large underdogs heading into the NECC Playoffs after the divisional jump.

The team was headlined by freshmen Luke Bigalk (Chula Vista, Calif.), Danny Haarmann (Wauwatosa, Wis.), Josh Imlah (Lombard, Ill.), and William Partain (Springfield, Va.) and sophomores Sam Boehlke (Mequon, Wis.) and Adam Hedman (Fond Du Lac, Wis.).

The Falcons placed fifth in the NECC Playoffs after a pair of 2-0 victories over Holy Cross in the Group Stage. The Valorant squad was defeated in the National Quarterfinals of the Spring season and the Semifinals of the Fall season both as the No. 4 seed.

"These boys are just getting started. We came so far during our Nationals week and took a lot of rounds off of teams ranked way higher than us," Said Valorant coach Jack Slater.

The young team still has a fire for their development in their future seasons. Coach Smith had this to say about their development as a team, "I have never been a round a team that wants to get better so badly. We made big strides at Nationals but everything we gained will serve as the foundation for an awesome next season."

The Falcons will return to the NECC to compete in the Fall.
