Rainbow 6 Siege Team Makes NECC National Championship Matchup

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW Rainbow 6 Siege (R6S) team clinched a shot at the R6S NECC national title with a victory in the semifinals. On Monday, the Falcons will take on Fanshawe at 5:00 PM CT.

This is the first NECC National Championship appearance in the team's history. The two squads will face off in a best of five series to crown the champion.

The Blue and White fell in the first round of the tournament but made a big push through the losers' bracket to get to the championship.

The Falcons swept both first-seeded Western Colorado and then Baker to clinch their spot.

Head Coach Lewis Smith had this to say about the matchup, "We just played the best Rainbow 6 of our lives to clinch a spot in these finals, and if we continue that play into the finals, we will win. We have been working towards this exact day for almost a year now and are not going to waste this opportunity. We came in confident, so the first-round loss was a shock to us, but it ended up teaching us exactly what we needed to do to win it all. It truly brought out our best."

In the regular season, the Falcons defeated Fanshawe with a score of 2-0.
