Big Wins for Esports

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW esports team had a turbulent week with schedule changes, but pushed through and kept their eyes on the prize last week.

In the Smash META League, week three saw a matchup with Baylor. The Falcons dropped a nail-biting 0-1 loss to the team from Texas. 

In Smash 2's META League week three, the Falcons took on Dominican College. It was all flock all day with a pair of victories with scores of 6-0 and 7-0. 

This moved both teams to 1-2 on their Spring META season.

In what was supposed to be NECC week five Overwatch doubleheader action, the Falcons had to split the matchups over Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday, the Falcons took on Highland Community College. The Falcons notched their first of two, sweep victories to keep their perfect season intact. The Falcons then took on Baker for their second of the two sweeps to advance to 6-0 in their NECC league and remain one of the top programs in their division.

The Falcons suffered a tough blow in Halo with a heartbreaking, fifth-game upset from Ohio College. The Falcons took the first game 250-101, but Ohio was able to come back snag two victories in the next two games. The Falcons snagged the 2-0 victory in the fourth game to force a fifth frame in the matchup. The fifth game went the way of Ohio College and sent the Falcons to 2-7 in the College Halo League.

The Falcon Rocket League team were prepped and ready to take on Marquette on Friday but were surprised with the matchup being moved up to Thursday. In a neck and neck battle, the Falcons fell 2-3 with game scores of 0-3, 3-2, 3-4, 4-0, and 1-5. The Falcons moved to 2-2on the Spring season.

In the fourth game of their NECC Spring season, the League of Legends squad snagged a big win from UNA-Purple. In this best of three style matchup, the Falcons came away with the 2-0 sweep with game scores of 36-32 and 29-13. This pushed the blue and white to 2-2 on the young Spring season.
