Esports Looks Toward Crucial Section of their Schedule
MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW esports team has seen a lot of success during their season. This upcoming week puts their success to the test as they face some solid competition and some big rivals as their teams fight for the top of the standings.
Last week, the Rainbow 6 Siege team continued to battle. They lost a tough matchup against Baker University with finals scores of 3-7 and 5-7. Coach Smith had this to say about the loss, "We have hit a slump, not going to lie. Now is where we get tested and really figure out how badly we want to be successful." The Falcons look to bounce back in their next competition.
The Valorant team is coming off a three-game losing streak with the latest from Culver Stockton University in their META League. The final scores of their matchup were 10-13 and 6-13. The Falcons effort was led by freshman Josh Imlah (Lombard, Ill.) with 40 eliminations and nine assists. Behind Imlah, was sophomore Adam Hedman (Fond du Lac, Wis.) with 37 eliminations and eight assists.
Coming up, the Falcon Rocket League team takes on yet another power squad in Colorado. Many have tried, but none have succeeded in ending the team's undefeated season, and the Falcons want to keep it that way. The Falcons have dropped just two games in their five matchups and aren't looking to lose anymore the rest of the season.
In their NECC League, the Valorant team is coming off of a two-game win streak and is taking on Finlandia on Monday. Their next matchups are against the two teams that are ahead of them in the standings, so they look to clutch up and take home the wins in their next few matchups.
There is nothing like a battle of the Concordias. For the Overwatch team, no one is a bigger rival than Concordia Nebraska. With pride and playoff seeding at stake, Thursday's matchup will be a vicious one as we finally see who is the top Concordia Overwatch team.
