Esports Sweeps First Half of the Week

MEQUON, Wis. – The Falcons Esports team came out hot in their first full week of competition with all of their early week titles securing big victories.

The first teams to compete were the Rocket League and Valorant teams.  The Rocket League team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 3-0 victory over Sacred Heart University.  Senior Austin Esterly (Lombard, Ill.) led the Falcons' scoring effort slotting seven goals as well as adding three assists in the 3-0 win.  Junior Aaron Huntley (Green Bay, Wis.) led the Falcons in assists posting six helpers in the contest.  The third part of the crew, sophomore Evan Moody (Milwaukee, Wis.) posted a six-goal, three-assist, three-save outing against Sacred Heart.

The Valorant Team put up a 2-1 reverse sweep against Alabama Huntsville going 6-13, 13-7, and 13-5 in their three games.  Sophomore Sam Boehlke (Mequon, Wis.) had this to say after the 2-1 reverse sweep; "I am so proud of the team for not only starting the NECC off with a win, but reverse sweeping a team in order to do so. Big things coming."  The Valorant team was led in eliminations by freshman Josh Imlah (Lombard, Ill.) and sophomore Adam Hedman (Fond Du Lac, Wis.) with 53 eliminations.

The Smash team took a win over Southern Connecticut by forfeit on Tuesday.  Coach Lewis Smith was amused when he learned of the forfeit and commented "Teams are just scared of us."  On top of the Smash team forfeit, came an Overwatch opponent forfeit.

A team that was actually challenged by an opponent on Wednesday was the Rainbow 6 Siege team.  The team was led by freshman Caeden Perry (Waunakee, Wis.) tallying 42 eliminations and six deaths in the 7-3 7-2 rout of Arcadia.

The Falcons continue action in the later part of the week and look to extend the winning streak.
