Esports Stays Perfect Through First Half of the Week

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW esports team is on fire.  They currently have seven titles sitting at an undefeated record, and they are still looking higher.

The week started with another solid performance from the META Rocket League team, who still have not even lost a set on the year.  Senior Austin Esterly (Lombard, Ill.) came out with force scoring seven of that Falcon 12 goals on the match.  Junior Aaron Huntley (Green Bay, Wis.) came through for the Blue and White making two of the four saves for the squad and ensuring a clean sweep.  Evan Moody, a sophomore from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, put up two goals on seven shots adding two assists to his total.  The Falcons swept Texas A&M 3-0 with set scores of 3-0, 5-0, and 5-0.

In their second league on Tuesday, the Rocket League team faced some competition from New Mexico Tech.  The team lost their first set of the year but still came out with the 3-2 victory.  This matchup would see a quick substitution after the first set when Huntley got knocked out by some technical difficulties.  This didn't phase sophomore substitution Zach Mulso (North Saint Paul, Minn.).  Instead, Mulso came in and put up some crazy numbers tallying six goals and three assists with two saves in the remaining sets.  "Zach was the MVP of the day," said coach Lewis Smith.

The Valorant team started their week with a forfeit from The University of British Columbia.  Coach Lewis Smith is getting tired of teams not wanting to face the Falcons.  "This whole 'don't show up and we can't lose to CUW strategy is getting old very quickly," Smith said.

Heading over to the Smash team, they continued their undefeated streak taking down Mitchell College with scores of 8-0 and 4-0.  Sophomore Angel Uriostegui (Round Lake, Ill.) came into the two-game matchup with a vengeance putting up 16 of the team's 18 eliminations.  The first game would see Uriostegui go 9-0 in eliminations to deaths to catapult the Falcons to the win.

The Falcons look to continue this week in perfect fashion yet again and look to solidify themselves at the top of each and every title.  Tune in to the Falcons Twitch stream for live coverage of the Blue and White squad.
