Fortnite Season Recap

By Joshua Klausmeier

Fortnite is an ever-changing, highly competitive video game with one of the biggest collegiate scenes. So of course, the Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) esports program is going to put in a team to dominate.

The CUW Fortnite team had seven players compete in the Solos league, and two trios competed in two tournaments each this semester. Both solos and trios competed in the PlayVS league. Trio 1 consisted of Colby Williams, Anthony Garron, and Steven Pieroni. Trio 2 consisted of Kodee Keys, Austin Lichtenstein, and Aiden O'Donnell.

Both trios made playoffs in the first trios event, with Trio 1 finishing 16th and Trio 2 finishing outside of the top 33 teams that made playoffs. In the second event for trios, both CUW trios struggled a little bit more with Trio 1 dropping down to 20th. In the solos league, Kodee performed exceptionally well, placing top 50 in the nation, resulting in himself winning some scholarship money as a prize.

Both trios and all solo players continue to train and get better day in and day out. They put in an unbelievable amount of time into getting better and they are excited and ready to dominate come next season.
