Esports Week Review

MEQUON, Wis. – Esports is getting into full swing and are starting to get into regular season play.

Looking back on their last competitions, The Falcons esports team showed off. 

Last week, the Super Smash Bros Ultimate team took on Sacred Heart University.  With scores of 12-6 and 12-9, the Falcons took a 2-0 victory to secured the win.  Freshman Kellan Gonzales (Waukesha, Wis.) put up some solid performances with a six elimination and three death game as well as a three elimination three death game.  Captain De'Shwan Ford (Gradena, Calif.) put up a 3-0 and a 5-3 game.  Sophomore Angel Uriostegui (Round Lake, Ill.) played in the second game recording a 1-0 line.

The Overwatch crew posted a 3-0 win in their META League week number one.  This brings them to a 1-0 standing on the season.  The competitors for this last week were sophomore Caleb Dunst (Bonduel, Wis.), senior Rebecca Gehm (Frankenmuth, Mich.), and freshman Nicholas Adelmund (Milwaukee, Wis.).

The third title that was showcased last week was Valorant.  The Falcons suffered a loss to Slippery Rock University with a final score of 0-2.  Sophomore Adam Hedman (Fond du Lac, Wis.), put up a team-high 22 elimination, 14 death, seven assists in the second game of the series.

The Falcons are looking forward to their upcoming week that will see competitions in the titles of Valorant against Alabama Huntsville, Rocket League vs. Sacred Heart, and Super Smash Bros against Southern Connecticut.
