Sam Beers Named Male Athlete of the Year

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin Athletics Department has announced Sam Beers of the baseball program as the 2020-21 Male Athlete of the Year Award recipient.

A junior from Janesville, Wisconsin, Sam Beers earned two All-American honors this year with an ABCA All-American First Team selection and a d3baseball.com Third Team selection at third base. Beers also earned All-Region honors, All-NACC accolades and was named the NACC North Division Co-Position Player of the Year.

Beers posted an outstanding season this year and boasted the 27th-best batting average in NCAA Division III at .442. He also smacked 69 hits on the season, which is the 14th best mark in NCAA Division III. He was also 31st in total bases in 2021 with 110. He notched 14 doubles, seven home runs and three triples. Beers also stole six bases on the year. The junior played a key role in the Concordia offense and scored 41 runs and had 46 runs batted in.
