SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – The Falcons and the Muskies drew even on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons took game one with an 8-5 victory, but fell in game two, 15-10. CUW moves to 17-13 on the year and to 7-7 in the NACC.
Junior Kyle Kosobucki (De Pere, Wis.) started the scoring in the third inning with a single through the left side of the infield to score senior Blake Gosswein (Barrington, Ill.). Junior Jared Chesak (West Bend, Wis.) the doubled into the gap in right-center field to score Kosobucki and junior Sean Tillmon (Plainfield, Ill.).
The Muskies nibbled into the lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
The Falcons got those runs back with a pair of runs in the seventh inning on a two-run home run to right field for Kyle Kosobucki that scored Tillmon.
CUW added to the lead in the ninth inning, when junior Tristan Largent (Verona, Wis.) singled through the right side of the infield to score Kyle Kosobucki and Sean Tillmon. Junior Daniel Hahn (Cudahy, Wis.) then was able to get freshman Jack Owens (Chicago, Ill.) across home plate.
The Muskies once again took a chunk out of the Concordia lead in the ninth inning, but it was not enough to take down the Falcons.
Sophomore Tyler Drezek (West Allis, Wis.) had another quality start on the mound and threw 10 strikeouts and only allowed five hits in game one.
Game two was an offensive battle that saw the Muskies come out on top.
Sean Tillmon started the scoring in the first inning with a three-run home run to center field to score Blake Gosswein and junior Johannes Haakenson (Janesville, Wis.).
Lakeland took the lead with the next five runs.
Blake Gosswein sent the ball out of the park in the fourth inning that also score senior Sam Zarling (West Bend, Wis.).
The Muskies responded with five runs in the fourth inning and two more runs in the fifth inning.
The Falcons cut into the Lakeland lead with three runs in the sixth inning. Sam Zarling started the scoring on a home run to left field. Blake Gosswein scored on an error and a single from Kyle Kosobucki scored Sean Tillmon.
CUW scored two more runs in the eighth inning. Senior Drew Johnson (Menasha, Wis.) landed a single to right-center field to score Sean Tillmon and Tristan Largent crossed home plate on a single from Daniel Hahn.
