CUW raids MSOE for a game-two victory

MEQUON, Wis. - Game one of the series was a quick one as there weren't any runs for the first four innings.

The Raiders would score five runs in the fourth inning to increase their lead 5-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth.

MSOE would score two more runs in the top of the fifth to increase their lead 7-0.

Falcons senior Sam Zarling (West Bend, Wis.) would blast a three-run home run over left-field fence to send in junior Daniel Hahn (Cudahy, Wis.) and senior Drew Johnson (Menasha, Wis.).

The Raiders would claim victory of game one 7-3.

Freshman Jack Hribernik (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) would send 51 of his 81 pitches down the strike zone.

Sophomore Andrew Javroski (Brown Deer, Wis.) and freshman Ben Spiers (Waukesha, Wis.) would also get their fair share at the mound in game one.

Game two would follow thirty minutes after the completion of the first.

The Raiders would strike first again in the fourth inning with three runs to lead 4-0.

Senior Blake Gosswein (Barrington, Ill.) would double down the right-field line to send junior Sean Tillmon (Plainfield, Ill.) and junior Sam Beers (Janesville, Wis.) home.

A wild pitch by the Raiders would send Johnson to second and Gosswein home.

The Falcons would be able to tie the game at three going into the top of the seventh.

The score would remain tied until the bottom of the ninth.

Johnson would get on base from a single out to right field.

Hahn would walk, allowing Johnson to advance to second.

Zarling would sacrifice bunt to send Johnson to third with only one out.

The Raiders would intentionally walk junior Johannes Haakenson (Janesville, Wis.).

Beers would battle it out and get a walk to send Johnson home and end the game with a Falcon victory, 4-3.
