The Falcons Silence the Sabres and Soar into the North Championship

MEQUON, Wis. - When it rains, it pours! The Falcons were able to shut Marian out with a tally of four runs on Saturday.

In the bottom of the first, junior Sean Tillmon (Plainfield, Ill.) grounded out to shortstop but secured the first run for the Falcons to send junior Johannes Haakenson (Janesville, Wis.) across home plate.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, junior Daniel Hahn (Cudahy, Wis.) was able to laser a home run down the left-field line.

Tillmon followed with a single up the middle to send Haakenson home again.

The Blue and White would secure the 3-0 lead heading into the seventh inning.

Senior Drew Johnson (Menasha, Wis.) wanted some action and sent the ball down to left field for a double.

Junior Jared Chesak (West Bend, Wis.) would cross the home plate off of an error from Johnson's hit.

Senior Bradlee Sumner (Ocala, Fla.) would secure the win for the Falcons, seeing a total of 35 batters in nine innings.

Sumner sent 100 pitches to Chesak with 65 of them being strikes.

The Falcons stay on the journey to the championship to face MSOE with the first pitch at noon on Sunday, May 16.
