MEQUON, Wis. – After the fog lifted at Kapco Park, the Falcons were able to put the first run on the board with junior Sean Tillmon (Plainfield, Ill.) grounding out to short stop to bring junior Johannes Haakenson (Janesville, Wis.) home.

The Blue and White would fall behind in the top of the second as three runs would come in for the Sabres.

Junior Jared Chesak (West Bend, Wis.) would bring in senior Sam Zarling (West Bend, Wis.) and move senior Blake Gosswein (Barrington, Wis.) to third in the bottom of the fourth. Senior Drew Johnson (Menasha, Wis.) would join in on the fun and bring in Gosswein to tie the score at three.

Johnson would bring in Gosswein again in the bottom of the sixth to only trail by three.

Concordia would see some action in the bottom of the seventh when junior Sam Beers (Janesville, Wis.) would double down the left field line to bring in Haakenson.

Junior Kyle Kosobucki (De Pere, Wis.) would send in Beers and the Falcons would head into the eighth inning trailing by one.

Only down by one run in the bottom of the ninth, Kosobucki would send a ball to center field and let Haakenson cross home plate again.

The Sabres were able to put away three runs in the top of the 10th to seal the first game of the series 10-7.

Sophomore Tyler Drezek (West Allis, Wis.) would pitch the first five innings, sending 54 strikes out of 92 pitches.

Sophomore Andrew Javoroski (Brown Deer, Wis.) pitched three innings with 26 strikes.

Junior Zach Lutz (Hartford, Wis.), junior Beau Wills (Coal City, Ill.), and junior Lucas Gitzlaff (Milwaukee, Wis.) would have their fair share of mound time as well.

A short time after, the Falcons and Sabres were off and running again!

The Falcons would get the first run on the board again with a single up the middle by Chesak to bring in speedy Haakenson.

Concordia would lead 1-0 until the bottom of the fourth inning.

The hot streak started with Haakenson reaching first on an error and advancing to second. This would cause freshman Brooks Kalscheur (Middleton, Wis.) and Gosswein to cross home plate.

Beers would then double to left center and send Haakenson home again.

Kosobucki had his fair share of fun by doubling to right field to let Beers score.

Chesak would then send Kosobucki home giving the Falcons a 6-0 lead.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Kalscheur would ground out into a double play, but would allow Tillmon the chance to sneak home.

The bottom of the eighth brought in two more runs for the Falcons as Gosswein and Haakenson would see the plate one more time each before shutting out the Sabres 9-0 in the ninth inning.

Senior Bradlee Sumner (Ocala, Fla.) would see the mound all nine innings and get the shutout win for game two. He saw 34 batters in nine innings, having 72 strikes out of his 119 pitches.
