Falcons Stun MSOE in the NACC Tournament

MEQUON, Wis.- The Falcons found their way into the winner's bracket with a 4-2 victory in the NACC North Division Baseball Tournament on Friday.

The Raiders were able to put the first run on the board for the game in the bottom of the first with a double down right-field line.

The Falcons would hold them at one run and bounce back in the top of the fourth with a series of runs.

Senior Blake Gosswein (Barrington, Ill.) would double down the right-field line as well to send junior Kyle Kosobucki (De Pere, Wis.) to third and junior Sean Tillmon (Plainfield, Ill.) home.

Junior Jared Chesak (West Bend, Wis.) would follow suit with a single down right field line to send Kosobucki home and Gosswein to third.

Senior Drew Johnson (Menasha, Wis.) would send a sacrifice fly out to left field, and Gosswein would be able to cross the plate.

The Falcons would head into the fifth inning with a 3-1 lead over MSOE.

Kosobucki would join the right field crew with a sacrifice fly, sending junior Sam Beers (Janesville, Wis.) home.

MSOE would get one last run in the bottom of the seventh to close the deficit 4-2.

The Falcons would have three pitchers on the mound for the afternoon matchup against the Raiders.

Sophomore Tyler Drezek (West Allis, Wis.) would secure the win for the Falcons pitching just over six innings. He saw 30 batters, sending 67 strikes down the line.

Junior Zach Lutz (Hartford, Wis.) would come in for Drezek to pitch an inning, seeing only five batters.

Junior Beau Wills (Coal City, Ill.) would join in on the fun to secure the last inning for the Falcons with 14 strikes out of the 21 pitches.

The Falcons continue their journey towards the championship with a matchup against the Marian Sabres on Saturday afternoon. The first pitch will be at 2 PM.
