Three Falcons Named to the All-NACC North Division Baseball Team
MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW baseball team landed three All-NACC North Division Baseball Team selections on Monday Afternoon. The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference also named Tyler Drezek the co-NACC North Pitcher of the Year and Sam Beers the co-NACC North Position Player of the Year. CUW also had three honorable mention selections.
A sophomore from West Allis, Wisconsin, Tyler Drezek is making his first All-NACC appearance. Drezek is the second Falcon to claim the Pitcher of the Year title. He finished the NACC season with a 3-0 record with 27 strikeouts and an earned-run average of 3.27.
A junior from Janesville, Wisconsin, Sam Beers is also making his first appearance on an All-NACC Team. Beers is the second CUW player to be named the NACC Position Player of the Year. Beers hit .394 in NACC play and finished the year with 26 hits and eight walks. He also had 18 RBI in NACC contests.
A senior from Barrington, Illinois, Blake Gosswein is appearing on an All-NACC Team. Gosswein notched 29 hits against the NACC North and had nine doubles, one triple and one home run. He also had 19 RBI and 12 walks.
A junior from De Pere, Wisconsin, Kyle Kosobucki had 21 hits in conference play and led the flock with six home runs. He sent in a team-high 26 RBI.
A junior from Plainfield, Illinois, Sean Tillmon had a team-high 31 hits in NACC and hit .365 with 14 RBI.
A junior from Janesville, Wisconsin, Johannes Haakenson also had 31 hits in the division and led CUW with 15 walks. Haakenson also secured 14 RBI and eight stolen bases.
The Falcons finished in third place in the NACC North Division with a record of 12-8.
