Falcons Fall Short in Game One of the NACC Championship Series

MONTGOMERY, Ill. – The No. 10 ranked Spartans of Aurora defended home turf in game one of the NACC Championship Series. The Spartans took the first game, 7-1 to move to one game away from advancing to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

The Spartans struck first on Friday with four runs in the fourth inning.

The Falcons kept throwing punches and senior Blake Gosswein (Barrington, Ill.) even knocked the ball over the fence in the fourth inning, only to be snagged by the right fielder.

Aurora added onto the lead with three more runs in the seventh inning.

Junior Sean Tillmon (Plainfield, Ill.) scored the final run of the day with a home run over the right-field fence.

Sophomore Tyler Drezek (West Allis, Wis.) recorded six strikeouts in the start on Friday.

Freshman Jack Hribernik (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) shut down the Spartans in the end of the game and struck out two batters.

Sean Tillmon secured three of Concordia's five hits on Friday afternoon.

The series shifts to Wisconsin on Saturday for the final two games of the series. The Falcons have to win game two to force a third game. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 at Kapco Park.
