Baseball sweeps the Stars

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW baseball team won a pair of thrilling games on Saturday afternoon against Dominican. The Falcons recorded 5-4 and 4-2 victories on Saturday to improve to 9- on the year.

The Stars jumped out to a 3-0 lead in game one.

Sam Zarling hit a double to right field in the fourth inning to score Blake Gosswein.

In the seventh inning, Kyle Kosobucki singled to center field to score Sam Beers.

The Falcons tied the game at four in the eighth inning with a single from Jared Chesak to score Tristan Largent and Sam Zarling scored on an error.

The Falcons got out of a bases-loaded jam with zero outs in the top of the ninth inning with junior Beau Wills on the mound.

Kyle Kosobucki ended the game with a blast out the left-field fence.

Beau Wills earned the victory on the mound.

The Falcons struck first in game two on an error in the second inning.

Tristin Largent tripled in the sixth inning to score Sam Zarling and Jared Chesak.

Sam Zarling scored the final Concordia run with a single to right field you score Blake Gosswein.

Ryan Green earned the victory with nine strikeouts on the mound.

The Falcons return to action on Wednesday against Aurora.
