Cougars walk off the Falcons

RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The Falcons fell in heartbreaking fashion on Wednesday at Concordia Chicago. The Cougars won the non-conference matchup with a 6-5 victory.

The Falcons started the scoring in the third inning on a single to right field from junior Johannes Haakenson (Janesville, Wis.) to send in senior Sam Zarling (West Bend, Wis.).

The Cougars took the lead with four runs in the sixth inning.

CUW responded with a run in the seventh inning on a single to center field by junior Tristan Largent (Verona, Wis.) to get junior Sean Tillmon (Plainfield, Ill.) across home plate.

The Falcons reclaimed the lead with three runs in the ninth inning.

Junior Sam Beers (Janesville, Wis.) started the scoring with a single to score Johannes Haakenson.

Junior Kyle Kosobucki (De Pere, Wis.) gave the Falcons the lead with a two-run blast over the fence.

The Cougars protected home field with three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to secure the victory.

The Falcons look to bounce back on Saturday against MSOE.
