Falcons Falter in NACC Finals

MEQUON, Wis. – The Falcons fell short in the NACC Tournament Finals on Sunday afternoon. The Blue and White finish the year at 14-11 with the 77-71 loss.

The Sabres inched ahead with an 18-6 run to close a low-scoring first half and took a 37-25 lead into halftime.

The Black and Blue pushed the lead up to 50-36 with 13:32 left in the game.

The Falcons fought back with a 14-2 run to cut the deficit to two points at 52-50. Junior Gabe Pruss (North Fond du Lac, Wis.) led the comeback with six points. Scoring three points the old-fashioned way twice.

Marian responded by pushing the lead up to nine points on two separate occasions.

Senior Joey Zietlow (Oak Creek, Wis.) cut the deficit to 63-61, but that's the closest Concordia could get.

Senior Jordan Johnson (Cedarburg, Wis.) led the flock with 22 points, finishing his career as the program leader in points with 2098 points.

Junior Jared Jurss (Sheboygan, Wis.) landed a game-high five assists.

Joey Zietlow finished one rebound short of a double-double performance with 17 points and nine rebounds. He also led the game with five steals.

The Falcons finish the year as co-NACC champions at 11-6 in NACC play.
