71st Concordia Invitational Tournament

Concordia Wisconsin will host this year’s Concordia Invitational Tournament, one of the longest-running college basketball tournaments in the nation. In its 71st year, CIT will bring together men’s and women’s basketball teams, cheer and dance teams, and pep bands of Concordia Wisconsin, Ann Arbor, Chicago, and Nebraska. Alumni and students are encouraged to turn out as well for this good-natured rivalry among the Concordias.

Tickets

Fans are welcome to fill the R. John Buuck Fieldhouse and sit in their assigned sections for each contest.  There will be concessions offered.

Concordia Student Spectators

CIT is also an opportunity for fun and camaraderie among Concordia students who have traveled from their respective campuses to support their home teams. Concordia students meet other Concordians throughout the week with these events hosted by CUW’s Campus Activities Board and Student Government Association.

    • Wednesday – Thursday | Basketball Hunt
      • Similar to an Easter Egg Hunt; find the basketballs and turn them in for a prize at the CAB Office, Albrecht 108D
    • Friday: Bingo & Bags
      • 4 pm, Bingo in Albrecht Lounge
      • 5 pm, Bags (Cornhole) Tournament in Terrace Room
      • All students are welcome to participate for a chance to win prizes! 
      • All student leaders are invited to meet and mingle over breakfast, hosted by CUW SGA
    • Saturday: Student Leader Meet-Up, Ping Pong, Basketball Bingo
      • Student Leader Meet-Up: 10-11 am, Lakeshore Room
        • All student leaders are invited to meet and mingle over breakfast, hosted by CUW SGA
      • Ping Pong Tournament: 10am-12pm, Albrecht Lounge
        1. Dr. Steve Gerner (CUW Alum, previous Dean of Students, and self-proclaimed Ping Pong Champ) will be returning to play students in a round of Ping Pong. All students welcome to play and win prizes
      • Basketball Bingo: Womens & Mens Consolation Games, Championship Games
        1. All students are welcome to play “Basketball Bingo” - grab a customized CIT Bingo card from the CAB table, watch the games, wait for a bingo, and claim your prize!

Alumni Spectators

Alumni from all Concordias are welcome to attend and cheer on their alma mater. There will be certain perks for alumni spectators:

  • Bird’s Eye Lounge is open to CUWAA alumni and parents | CUWAA’s Office of Alumni Relations will, once again, be creating the Bird’s Eye Lounge in the Field House mezzanine, a place to relax and take in the action in style. The lounge will be open beginning Friday for the first game at 1 p.m. and will remain available throughout the tournament.
  • Alumni booths | CUWAA alumni, check in at the alumni booth (tables) in the Fieldhouse Lobby to receive updates and giveaways from your alma mater. Each attending Concordia will have a table presence in the lobby.
  • Hall of Fame | The HOF class of 2023 will be introduced during halftime of the CUW women’s basketball game on Friday (6 p.m. tipoff). The Saturday HOF induction ceremony is from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Luptak Terrace Room. This invitation-only event requires an RSVP. Check your email for an invite.
  • All Concordia Alumni Social | Alumni are welcome to attend the All Concordia Alumni Social in the Luptak Terrace Room from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
