Falcons Cruise at Carroll

WAUWATOSA, Wis. – The Falcons got back to their winning ways on Friday night with a 74-69 victory at the Carroll Pioneer Tip-Off Classic against the host Pioneers. The victory propels CUW to 1-1 on the season.

The Falcons took an early lead on Friday and never looked back. CUW ballooned the lead up to 32-15 on a jump shot from sophomore Freeman Jackson (Green Bay, Wis.) and led 37-25 at halftime.

A dunk by senior Brandon Keller (Plymouth, Wis.) gave the Falcons a 48-31 lead, but the Pioneers kept fighting and retook the lead with just over four minutes remaining.

The Falcons then flexed their muscles and outscored the Pioneers 18-12 in the final four minutes to secure the victory.

Senior Jordan Johnson (Cedarburg, Wis.) led all scorers with 22 points.

Brandon Keller notched a double-double performance with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

The Falcons held a 38-32 advantage in rebounds.

Junior Jared Jurss (Sheboygan, Wis.) dished out a game-high seven assists in the victory.

CUW looks to keep the ball rolling in the right direction on Saturday against Coe.
