Falcons Fry the Muskies in Second-Half Surge

PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The Falcons returned to the win column on Wednesday with a road victory at Lakeland. CUW improved to 6-7 on the season with the 94-68 victory. The Falcons also improved to 5-3 in NACC action.

The first half saw a tightly contested battle between the two NACC foes with neither team able to build a large lead. The Falcons used a 7-0 run to grow the largest lead of the first half at 27-22. The run was capped off by a jump shot from sophomore Freeman Jackson (Green Bay, Wis.).

The Muskies bit back with a 9-0 run over the next minute to take back the lead.

A jump shot from senior Jordan Johnson (Cedarburg, Wis.) gave the Falcons back the lead with under three minutes left in the half.

The Blue and White closed the half with a shot clock violation on the defensive end and a three-point basket from senior Garrett Hoffmann (Belgium, Wis.) as the clock expired to give the Falcons a 39-35 halftime lead. Hoff

The Falcons came out of the second half blazing, opening the half with baskets from senior Brandon Keller (Plymouth, Wis.) and Jordan Johnson.

CUW ballooned the lead up to 13 points with a 13-4 run over a three-minute stretch that was finished off with a three-point basket from sophomore Matt LeVene (Manitowoc, Wis.).

The Falcons pushed the lead up to 28 points on multiple occasions on Wednesday. 28 points are the largest lead the Falcons have built on the season.

Jordan Johnson fried the Muskies with a double-double performance of 26 points and 14 rebounds.

Brandon Keller fell one rebound short of another double-double effort with 13 points and nine rebounds.

The Falcons owned the glass on Wednesday with 50 rebounds on the road. CUW held Lakeland to 37 rebounds. CUW had 11 different Falcons finished with a rebound in the victory.

Junior Jared Jurss (Sheboygan, Wis.) finished with seven of the Falcons' 20 assists on Wednesday. He also scored 12 points against the Muskies.

Garrett Hoffmann was a perfect three-for-three from beyond the three-point line on Wednesday and finished with 13 points.

The 94 points are the second-most scored for CUW on the season.

The Falcons return to the road again on Saturday when they travel to Illinois Tech.
