Illinois Tech Trips Up CUW in Final Minute

CHICAGO – The Scarlet Hawks made their free throws to defend home court on Saturday to secure an 86-82 victory.  

The Falcons led for the entirety of the first half on Saturday afternoon. A layup from junior Jared Jurss (Sheboygan, Wis.) gave the Blue and White a 36-24 lead with 4:22 left in the half.

The Blue and White took a 47-39 lead into halftime.

The Scarlet Hawks did not fold and took the lead just over five minutes into the second half.

The two teams fought back and forth for the rest of the half.

With the game tied at 80 with a minute remaining, the Scarlet Hawks made six free throws to secure the victory.

Senior Jordan Johnson (Cedarburg, Wis.) led the flock with 27 points. He earned a double-double performance with 11 rebounds.

Senior Brandon Keller (Plymouth, Wis.) also notched a double-double performance with 16 rebounds and 14 points.

Senior Joey Zietlow (Oak Creek, Wis.) scored his first points of the season and finished the day with 10 points.

The Falcons look to bounce back on Monday against Marian.
