Men’s Basketball Meshes at Rockford 

ROCKFORD, Ill. – The CUW men's basketball team traveled to Rockford to begin their three-game road stretch. 

The Regents kept it close in the first eight minutes.  The Falcons started getting hot when they went on a 13-5 run that started with a deep ball from junior Grant Karsten (Decatur, Ill.) after another Jared Jurss (Sheboygan, Wis.) assist.   

The Falcons went into the break with a nine-point lead after a late half steal and made layup by junior Gabe Pruss (North Fond Du Lac, Wis.) to seal the half. 

The Falcons opened their second-half scoring with a three-point basket from senior Garrett Hoffmann (Belgium, Wis.) to take the 51-41 lead. 

The Falcons started to open up the game after another Hoffmann three-point basket to take the 14-point lead.   

The Falcons finished the game with an 18-point lead and a final score of 98-80. 

Both Garrett Hoffmann as well as senior Jordan Johnson (Cedarburg, Wis.) led the Falcons with 22 points.  Hoffmann drained six of his 12 three-point attempts as well as both of his free throws.   

Senior Brandon Keller (Plymouth, Wis.) followed close behind Johnson and Hoffmann with 20 points.  Keller brought in seven rebounds and snagged two blocks with two assists.   

Jared Jurss dished out 13 assists, fresh off his career record-breaking night against Wisconsin Lutheran.  Jurss added six points and five rebounds on top of the 13 assists. 

Grant Karsten led the Flock in bench points with nine followed by Pruss with eight.   

The Falcons shot a killer 56.1 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from deep.  Johnson led the team shooting 89 percent from the field and 67 percent from deep. 

The Falcons continue their road stretch at Concordia Chicago on Monday the sixth.
