Falcons Bounce Benedictine out of the NACC Tournament

MEQUON, Wis. – The Falcons secured a spot in the NACC Tournament Semifinals on Friday night with a 71-56 victory over Benedictine on Wednesday night. The Eagles end the season at 12-13 and the Falcons soar to 13-10 on the year.

The Eagles drew first blood on Wednesday with an early 6-0 lead.

The Blue and White bounced back with a 7-0 run capped off by a three-point basket from junior Jared Jurss (Sheboygan, Wis.).

Trailing 15-17, the Falcons blasted Benedictine with a 15-3 run to take a commanding 30-20 lead, capped off by a three-point basket from senior Jordan Johnson (Cedarburg, Wis.).

After pushing the lead to 11 points, the Falcons took a 34-24 lead into halftime.

It was all Concordia in the second half on Wednesday evening. Benedictine trimmed the lead to nine points in the first minute, but the Falcons posted a double-digit lead the rest of the evening.

The Falcons pushed the lead to 21 points on multiple occasions to burst Benedictine's bubble.

The Falcons feasted in the paint on Wednesday with 42 points.

Jordan Johnson once again burned Benedictine with a game-high 22 points.

Senior Brandon Keller (Plymouth, Wis.) had another double-double performance with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Concordia spread the wealth on Wednesday with 21 assists. Jared Jurss, senior Joey Zietlow (Oak Creek, Wis.) and senior Garrett Hoffmann (Belgium, Wis.) all had four assists.

The Falcons will host the winner of the Wisconsin Lutheran vs. St. Norbert game on Friday night.
