Falcons Finish Off the Raiders

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The CUW men's basketball team traveled down to MSOE to take on the Raiders in a NACC matchup.

The Falcons snatched the first points and never looked back. CUW led for 39 minutes and 34 seconds on Wednesday night.

The Falcons jumped out to a nine-point lead after a steal by junior Jared Jurss (Sheboygan, Wis.) turned into a made jump shot by junior Gabe Pruss (North Fond Du Lac, Wis.).

The Falcons pushed the lead up to 19 in the next six minutes with a couple of baskets, two of which were drained by senior Garrett Hoffmann (Belgium, Wis.).  The Falcons went into the half with a 13-point lead after a buzzer-beater layup by Pruss.

The Falcons held a double-digit lead for eight minutes at the beginning of the second half.  The Raider offense started firing and was able to cut the deficit to just three points at the 11-minute mark of the second half.

The Falcons pulled back to a double-digit lead in the next four minutes after five back-to-back points from senior Jordan Johnson (Cedarburg, Wis.).

The Falcons secured the victory with a final score of 81-74. The victory pushes CUW into second place in the NACC standings at 3-1.

Hoffmann and senior Brandon Keller (Plymouth, Wis.) led the flock with 18 and 16 points respectively.  Keller added six rebounds while Hoffmann added four steals.

Off the bench, sophomore Freeman Jackson (Green Bay, Wis.) led the game in bench points with nine.

The Falcons return home on Saturday to take on Illinois Tech inside the R John Buuck Fieldhouse.
