Second-Half Surge Spoils Record-Breaking Night

MEQUON, Wis. – The Falcons opened NACC play on Wednesday night in a battle between two of the projected titans in the NACC. The projected NACC favorite Wisconsin Lutheran Warriors stormed back to take the NACC opener with a 92-85 victory.

The evening started with an assist from junior Jared Jurss (Sheboygan, Wis.) on a layup from senior Jordan Johnson (Cedarburg, Wis.) for his 415th career assist to become the all-time leader in program history.

The Falcons continued to soar in the first half and pushed the lead up to 28-11 with a basket from Johnson.

CUW held a 49-34 lead going into halftime.

The Green and White did not fold and continued to chip away at the Concordia lead until they tied the game at 68 with just under eight minutes to play.

The two teams exchanged the lead multiple times, but the Warriors came out on top.

Jarred Jurss tied his school record with 15 assists on the evening.  He also added 13 points for the double-double performance.

Senior Brandon Keller (Plymouth, Wis.) also notched a double-double performance with a game-high 14 rebounds and 12 points.

Jordan Johnson led the effort for CUW with 20 points. Junior Grant Karsten (Decatur, Ill.) added 14 points from the bench with a team-high four three-point baskets.

The Falcons look to bounce back on Saturday at Rockford.
