Men’s Basketball Drops 100 on Aurora

MEQUON, Wis. – The Falcons continued their hot streak on Saturday afternoon. The Blue and White bounced Aurora with a 100-67 victory. CUW soars to 8-9 on the year and 7-5 in NACC action.

The Falcons never trailed on Saturday and started the attack with a layup from senior Brandon Keller (Plymouth, Wis.)

With the game tied at seven, the Falcons separated with a 10-0 run. The run was anchored by a pair of three-point baskets from senior Garrett Hoffmann (Belgium, Wis.).

The Blue and White bounced the lead up to 16 points on multiple occasions and took a 48-34 lead into halftime. Senior Jordan Johnson (Cedarburg, Wis.) drained 21 points in the first half.

The Falcons stayed aggressive throughout the second half. The Falcons blew away the Black and Blue with a 19-5 run to push the lead to 94-60 during a four-minute stretch. Sophomore Keghan Tighe (West Bend, Wis.) hit a layup that helped the Falcons reach the 100-point plateau for the second straight game.

This is the first time in the NCAA era that the Falcons have scored 100 points in two-straight games.

Jordan Johnson scored a game-high 29 points, while only playing 27 minutes. He also led the game with four steals.

Junior Grant Karsten (Decatur, Ill.) finished with 13 points and Sophomore Matt LeVene (Manitowoc, Wis.) tallied 11 points in the victory.

Brandon Keller and Matt LeVene led the game with seven rebounds. 

CUW finished with 29 assists, led by Freeman Jackson with six.

The Falcons return to action on Wednesday at Marian.
