No. 17-Ranked Titans Top CUW in Season Opener 

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW men's basketball team opened their season inside the R John Buuck Fieldhouse against the 17^th-ranked Wisconsin-Oshkosh Titans.   

The Falcons started off the game with 36 points in the first half against a juggernaut of a defensive unit.  Senior Jordan Johnson (Cedarburg, Wis.) let up the first half with 14 points and four rebounds through the first 20 minutes.   

Junior Gabe Pruss (North Fond du Lac, Wis.) recorded four blocks and three rebounds in the first half with junior Jared Jurss (Sheboygan, Wis.) adding 11 more points to the Falcon total. 

The Falcons came out of halftime looking to close the gap from 10.  Jurss hit a three-point basket to bring the Falcons to within seven, but the Titans didn't let up.  

The Falcons ended the game after they scored 26 points in the second half to end the game with a final score of 96-62. 

Johnson recorded 27 points and six rebounds in the season debut, and Jurss added 14.  Off the bench, senior Garrett Hoffmann (Belgium, Wis.) scored six of the eight bench points and added two rebounds and a steal. 

Pruss ended the game with five total blocks as well as five rebounds off the bench.   

The Falcons shot 24-61 from the field (39.3%) and 5-20 from the three-point line (25%). 

Johnson was a perfect six-for-six from the free-throw line and 10-19 from the floor. 

The Falcons hit the road as they travel to Carroll for their next matchup Friday, Nov. 12.
