Falcons Open the Outdoor Season

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The CUW men's track & field team opened the 2022 outdoor season on Friday at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in a loaded field with student-athletes from NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA and Canada. Lock Haven leads the competition with 13 points.

Senior Gideon Cain (Cedarburg, Wis.) placed 11th in the hammer throw at 44.81 meters.

The Falcons posted a back-to-back finish in the 800-meter run with senior William Ebel (Macomb, Mich.) in 11th place at 2:01.00 and junior Easton Becker (Ankeny, Iowa) in 12th place at 2:01.50.

Freshman Nate Waech (West Bend, Wis.) recorded a 22nd-place finish in the 400-meter dash at 55.87.

Sophomore Jacob Kelm (Cedarburg, Wis.) clocked in at 16.20 in the 110-meter hurdles in 26th place. Freshman Bernie Van Den Heuvel (Valders, Wis.) was in 35th place at 17.70, Freshman Jacob Couillard (Kingsford, Mich.) was in 37th place at 18.60 and junior Michael Brookshire (Jenny Lind, Calif.) was in 41st place at 22.56.

Senior Christian Prohl (Downers Grove, Ill.) led the flock in the 100-meter dash in 34th place at 11.58. Junior Paul Witto (Charleston, S.C.) finished in 60th place at 11.91 and Michael Brookshire was in 73rd place at 12.69.

Senior Derrick Folkman (Bonduel, Wis.) ran a time of 5:26.97 in the mile run in 37th place.

Jacob Couillard collected a 50th-place finish in the long jump at 5.36 meters.

Concordia wraps up the competition on Saturday.
