Falcons Face Fierce Competition at Ripon

RIPON, Wis. – The Falcons faced stiff competition on Saturday at the Ripon RedHawk Invite on Saturday. In a competition that range from the Big Ten Conference and other NCAA Division I and NAIA athletes, the Falcons finished seventh as a team with 30 points. Wisconsin-Oshkosh led the way with 201 points.

"Today was a very competitive meet and our team fared well," said head coach Russ De Lap. "I thought as a team we rose to the occasion and competed hard. The outcome was where, as coaches, we thought we would be heading into the last third of the season."

Sophomore Tim Brey (Cedarburg, Wis.) was the individual champion in the 5000-meter run with a winning time of 15:34.91.

The team of junior Easton Becker (Ankeny, Iowa), senior Christian Prohl (Downers Grove, Ill.), Tim Brey and Freshman Nate Waech (West Bend, Wis.) finished second in the 4x200 meter relay at 1:35.20 and finished fifth in the 4x400 meter relay at 3:36.26

Senior Gideon Cain (Cedarburg, Wis.) led all NCAA Division III athletes at 15.29 meters in the weight throw and in the shot put at 15.15 meters.

Junior Konnor Kingsmore (Colorado Spring, Colo.) claimed a 10th-place mark of 12.50 meters in the triple jump.

Easton Becker finished at 2:03.05 in the 800-meter run in 10th place.

In the 400-meter dash, junior Dane Tischendorf Antigo, Wis.) recorded a time of 54.27 in 13th place.

The 200-meter dash saw sophomore Robert Taylor (Miami, Fla.) take 13th place at 24.03. He was also 15th in the long jump at 5.61 meters.

Nate Waech reached 3.50 meters at pole vault on Saturday to finish in 15th place.

Sophomore Joshua Peterson (Palatine, Ill.) placed 15th in the 3000-meter run at 9:59.97.

Freshman Jacob Couillard (Kingsford, Mich.) collected the fastest time for CUW in the 60-meter hurdles at 10.99 in 16th place. He also had the best CUW high jump at 1.77 meters.

Freshman Matthew DiMercurio (Florissant, Mo.) crossed the finish line at 5:22.27 in the mile in 18th place.  

Christian Prohl was the fastest Falcon in the 60-meter dash at 7.41 in 20th place.

The Falcons will compete again at the Wisconsin-Oshkosh Titan Challenge on Saturday, Feb. 19.
