Falcons Finish Meet at Titan Challenge

OSHKOSH, Wis. – The CUW men's track and field team traveled to Oshkosh on Saturday to take part in the UW-Oshkosh Titan Challenge.
The Titans ran away with their event with a winning score of 210 total points.
The Falcons placed 13th as a team with nine points.
The first event for the men's track and field team was the 4x400. The Falcon team of freshman Dalton Hribar (Oconomowoc, Wis.), sophomore Joshua Peterson (Palatine, Ill.) junior Paul Witto (Charleston, N.C.), and senior William Ebel (Macomb, Mich.) snagged the first Falcon team point with a 3:42.34 finish which was good enough for third place.
Freshman Matthew Torres (Von Ormy, Texas) placed 32nd in the 60m finals with a time of 7.65. In the same event, junior Isaac Zahrt (Kronenwetter, Wis.) came in 39th place with a time of 7.86.
In the 200m final, senior Christian Prohl (Downers Grove, Ill.) recorded a 35th-place finish with a time of 23.73. Witto finished just .52 seconds later but fell to 46th with a time of 24.25. Finishing behind Witto was Hribar with a time of 24.87 and a 60th-place finish. Torres also finished the race with a 66th-place finish at 25.21 with sophomore Colin Rerecich (Henderson, Nev.) coming in 73rd-place.
The 400m final saw Prohl place 28th with a time of 53.34 as well as Rerecich in 50th with a time of 58.04.
In the finals of the 800m, junior Easton Becker (Ankeny, Iowa) recorded a 13th-place finish with a time of 2:01.08. Close on his heels was William Ebel with a time of 2:02.98. Sophomores Jack Ramstack (Colgate, Wis.) and Ryan Klug (Arlington, Va.) also competed in the event with finishes of 2:18.08 and 2:21.49 respectively.
In the mile, sophomore Tim Brey (Cedarburg, Wis.) snagged two more Falcon team points with a seventh-place finish and a time of 4:25.76. Freshman Dominic Willadsen (Sheboygan, Wis.) and sophomore Richard Schaefer (Racine, Wis.) finished 31st and 32nd with times of 4:41.37 and 4:41.89. Peterson finished in 42nd-place with a time of 4:52.91. Ramstack followed close behind with a time of 5:12.52. Klug recorded a 5:18.37 time for 59th-place.
Senior Derrick Folkman (Bonduel, Wis.) was the only Falcon to compete in the 3000m finals with a 51st-place finish and a time of 11:17.57.
In the first round of the 60m hurdles, sophomore Jacob Kelm (Cedarburg, Wis.) finished outside of the qualification mark in 19th-place with a time of 9.11. Junior Michael Brookshire (Jenny Lind, Calif.) finished in 31st-place for the Falcons with a time of 12.88.
Waesh was the only Falcon pole-vaulter with a 15th-place finish at 3.92 meters.
Junior Konnor Kingsmore (Colorado Springs, Colo.) took 12th-place in the triple jump with a jump of 12.43 meters. Right behind him was junior Samuel Heling (De Pere, Wis.) with a jump of 11.96 meters.
Senior Gideon Cain (Cedarburg, Wis.) picked up the other six of the nine Falcon points with four coming from the shot put. With a throw of 15.60 meters, Cain snagged a fifth-place finish. His other two Falcon points came from a seventh-place finish in the weight throw with a distance of 16.70 meters.
Freshman Mitchell Moeller (Cedarburg, Wis.) and junior Seth Day (Sunset Hills, Mo.) also competed in the shot put with finishes of 18th and 23rd with throws of 12.33 meters and 12.15 meters respectively. Moeller also competed with Cain in the weight-throw and placed 30th with a 12.61-meter throw.
The Falcons turn their attention toward the NACC Indoor Championship next weekend in Ripon, Wisconsin.
