Doedens leads four Men’s Basketball All-NAC honorees

WAUKESHA, Wis. - Senior guard Luke Doedens was one of four Concordia University Wisconsin men's basketball players to earn All-Northern Athletics Conference honors, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.

Doedens (Cedarburg, Wis.) was named NAC Player of the Year and earned First Team All-NAC honors for his efforts on the court. The 6-foot-5 guard averaged a team-best 16.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. Doedens surpassed the 1,000 point plateau on Feb. 11 and finished the season ranked 10th and 56th nationally in 3-point field goal percentage (44.2) and 3-point field goals made per game (2.7), respectively, as of Feb. 26.

Senior Mitchell Schneider (New Holstein, Wis.) was named Second Team All-NAC to conclude his career. The 6-foot-3 guard averaged 14.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and a team-high 2.1 steals per game. This was the fourth straight year he was named all-conference. Schneider finished his career ranked sixth in program history with 1,255 points and also ranked fifth with 175 steals.

Freshman Ben Booke (Viroqua, Wis.) was named to the All-NAC Freshman Team after averaging 6.0 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. The 6-foot-6 forward had five double-figure scoring games and shot 68.8 percent (66-of-96) from the field.

Senior Matt Paluchniak (Oostburg, Wis.) earned All-NAC Sportsmanship honors after compiling a career-best 136 assists this season. The 6-foot-1 guard ranked among the best point guards in the nation, 15th, with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.72, as of Feb. 26. He was also 41st nationally in assists per game. Paluchniak finished his career ranked fifth all-time in program history with 315 assists, along with tying for 10th in steals with 128.

CUW finished the season with a 21-6 overall record, its second back-to-back 20 win season in program history. The Falcons also had a 14-2 league mark which earned them the outright NAC North Division title for the third straight year.
