PREVIOUS MEETINGS: The past two
matchups between these two rivals ended in favor of the Falcons. On
Jan. 17, they earned a one point, 70-69, road
win behind senior Luke Doedens' two free throws with 2.0
seconds remaining, and Brian Jackson's 15 points.
Then on Feb. 8, the raucous Concordia crowd was
treated to a 106-102 double overtime victory. Doedens banked
in a 3-pointer to send the game into extra time before Mitchell
Schneider sank consecutive 3-pointers to give CUW momentum until
the final horn.
FALCONS LAST TIME OUT: During the NAC
Tournament quarterfinals on Tuesday, CUW earned a 73-66
win over Marian University behind an 11-2 three minute scoring
run during the second half. Doedens led all players with 18 points,
including four 3-pointers.
MUSKIES LAST CONTEST: LC's Justin
Ward led all players with 24 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including
three 3-pointers, to go along with a team-high 10 points. Jake
Schwarz, the nation's eighth ranked scorer, was held to seven
points on 2-of-13 shooting from the field.
OFFENSIVE FIRE POWER: The Muskies and
Falcons can both score points in a hurry, as they rank first and
second in the NAC offensively. Both teams can also shoot the ball
effectively from long range as they have combined for 471 triples
at a 38 percent clip. Schwarz and Doedens are the respective
assassins, ranking fourth and 13th nationally in 3-point
percentage.
