
Men’s Basketball travels to Dominican Saturday

University Wisconsin men's basketball squad takes their 8-3 overall
record to River Forest, Ill., Saturday to battle the Dominican
University Stars.

Dominican has struggled to a 3-9 overall record to date, including 1-3 in the Northern Athletics Conference South Division. Senior guard Darius Nelson leads DU with a 14.2 points per game average. The only other Star in double figures for the season is sophomore forward Logan Harris (10.4). Nelson, Harris, and freshman forward Brandon Barkley (9.7 points per game) are the only Stars to have started every game.
Outrebounded in each of their losses, DU has averaged just 63 points while allowing 72.
Seniors Luke Doedens (Cedarburg, Wis.) and Mitchell Schneider (New Holstein, Wis.) remain the 1-2 punch for CUW offensively with averages of 16.5 and 15.3 points per game, respectively. Senior point guard Matt Paluchniak is the only other Falcon to have started all 11 contests.
Head coach Shawn Cassidy's team is averaging 78 points per outing while allowing 65. In addition to the three senior starters, eight other Falcons are averaging at least three points per game.
CUW (4-1 in the NAC) is one half game behind Edgewood (4-0) in current league standings. The Eagles travel to MSOE (3-1) Saturday.
