Women's Basketball season comes to an end in NACC Tournament

RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- Concordia Wisconsin's season came to a close on Wednesday night in the opening round of the NACC Tournament after a 64-59 defeat at Dominican inside the Igini Sports Forum.

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Concordia Wisconsin was within two points, 61-59, after a Clara Chambers free-throw with 18 seconds to play in the game. Just seconds later they had to foul Dominican, who then made both free throws. On the ensuing possession, the Falcons missed a layup prior to the Stars making a late free throw with 11 seconds to play.
- The game was tight throughout with five scoring ties, three lead changes and neither team holding a lead larger than eight points. The Falcons won the second quarter, 19-16, after shooting 61.5 percent and nailing three triples. This was after the opening quarter when they shot 18.8 percent.
- Concordia Wisconsin was led by junior Clara Chambers (Mineral Point, Wis.) who scored a career-high 28 points on 10-of-25 shooting. Senior Kaitlyn Foster (Janesville, Wis.) tallied 12 points in the final game of her career. Sophomore Camryn Szolyga (Waukesha, Wis.) had seven points and 11 rebounds, while junior Emily Hafemann (Hales Corners, Wis.) had six rebounds and three assists.
- Dominican was led by Timaya Ray who had 15 points, nine rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks. Nyema Burns had 11 rebounds and Stephenee Huggans recorded eight assists.

SEASON NOTES
- This season the Falcons averaged 41.5 rebounds, which was the fourth-highest total for a season in program history. They also had the fifth-most points per game (67.2), assists per game (14.6) and blocks per game (3.0).
- Chambers' 58 3-pointers were the third-most made by an individual for a season in program history.
