Falcons set program record for assists in blowout victory

MEQUON, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin was efficient on offense, dishing out a program-record 29 assists, during a convincing 97-43 NACC victory over Illinois Tech on Wednesday night inside the R. John Buuck Field House.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons were passing the ball with ease and finding the opponent shooter often and set a new program record with 29 assists. They dished out six helpers in the opening quarter, had 15 assists at halftime and 24 through 30 minutes of action.
- Concordia Wisconsin scored 97 points and have been above 90 points in each of the four meetings during the history of the series. They made 12 3-pointers and have now drained 27 combined in the two meetings against the Scarlet Hawks this season. Ten players scored in the victory, with redshirt junior Clara Chambers (Mineral Point, Wis.) scoring a team-high 17 points after making five triples.
- Senior Kaitlyn Foster (Janesville, Wis.) had 14 points, four assists and three steals; while sophomore Aubrey Buchholtz (Seymour, Wis.) scored 12 points off the bench in 17 minutes of action. Junior Emily Hafemann (Hales Corners, Wis.) had 11 points and sophomore Camryn Szolyga (Waukesha, Wis.) ended with 10 points and seven rebounds. Freshman Regan Obry (Neenah, Wis.) tallied nine points and a game-high seven assists, and freshman Brianna Freund scored nine points. Freshman Lindsey Smitsdorff (Coon Rapids, Minn.) ended with seven points and eight rebounds.
- Concordia Wisconsin had a 47-28 advantage in rebounding, forced 24 turnovers and scored 22 points off those errors, had 11 fastbreak points and tallied 48 points in the paint.
- Illinois Tech was led by Shannon O'Donnell who had a game-high 26 points, to go along with eight rebounds and three assists.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- Concordia Wisconsin travels to River Forest, Illinois for the 69th Annual Concordia Invitational Tournament for a Friday 7 pm game against Concordia Chicago, which will also count as a NACC contest.
