Women's Basketball grinds out win over MSOE

MEQUON, Wis. -- It wasn't the smoothest of games, but in the end, a win is a win, and Concordia Wisconsin walked away with a 55-40 NACC victory over MSOE on Wednesday night inside the R. John Buuck Field House.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Concordia Wisconsin led by just three points at the intermission after shooting 24 percent (7-of-29), but was able to hold MSOE to 34.8 percent (8-of-23) from the floor through 20 minutes of action. As the game progressed the Falcons got better and was strong at the free-throw line in the final quarter, going a perfect 12-for-12.
- Even though the ball didn't go through the hoop at its normal rate, the Falcons valued the basketball and turned it over just eight times in the victory. They also scored 20 points off 18 Raiders turnovers.
- Senior Clara Chambers (Mineral Point, Wis.) led all players with 19 points, to go along with four steals and also went 10-of-10 at the free-throw line. The last time a Falcon was perfect at the charity stripe with at least 10 attempts was Krista Mayyou on January 13, 2009.
- Senior Kaitlyn Foster (Janesville, Wis.) added 10 points, while freshman Lindsey Smitsdorff (Coon Rapids, Minn.) ended with five points and six rebounds off the bench. Sophomore Camryn Szolyga (Waukesha, Wis.) added six points, five rebounds and two assists.
- MSOE was led by Amy Reiser who had 12 points and 10 rebounds.
