Falcons celebrates Foster on Senior Day

MEQUON, Wis. -- A victory would mean a home game in the NACC Tournament, that is what Concordia Wisconsin was playing for on Saturday afternoon inside the R. John Buuck Field House. After overcoming a 16-0 deficit to start the game and leading midway through the third quarter, the Falcons weren't able to slow down NACC-leading Benedictine during a 78-67 loss in the regular-season finale.

Concordia Wisconsin, the fifth seed, will travel to fourth-seeded Dominican for a Wednesday 7 pm game in the opening round of the NACC Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles drained a pair of 3-pointers and went inside the paint to build a comfortable 16-0 lead through six-plus minutes in the opening quarter. However, the Falcons scratched their way back into the game with a 26-8 scoring run to take their first lead of the game.
- Things would go back-and-forth during the remainder of the second quarter, all of the third quarter and minutes into the fourth until Benedictine took a 59-57 lead it wouldn't surrender. The visitors outscored Concordia Wisconsin 21-10 over the game's final six minutes and 48 seconds.
- The hosts struggled from downtown, making 6-of-23 3-point attempts, but excelled at the free-throw line making a season-high 86.4 percent (19-of-22) attempts. They also turned 12 Eagle turnovers into 22 points.
- Senior Kaitlyn Foster (Janesville, Wis.) was honored for her fourth-year commitment to the program and ended with eight points and four rebounds. Junior Emily Hafemann (Hales Corners, Wis.) and sophomore Camryn Szolyga (Waukesha, Wis.) each had a team-high 17 points. Junior Clara Chambers (Mineral Point, Wis.) scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
- Benedictine was led by Allison Michalski's game-high 29 points, to go along with 14 rebounds, three steals and two blocks. Alex Fanning also had 17 points and 17 rebounds.
