MEQUON, Wis. - The Concordia Wisconsin women's basketball team took a 63-47 loss to the MSOE Raiders on Wednesday night, moving the team's overall record to 10-12 on the season. The Falcons were led offensively by junior guard Aubrey DeBauch (Gillett, Wis.), who notched her third consecutive game with 10 or more points.
The Raiders surged to a 6-0 advantage to begin the contest and found themselves leading 22-12 by the end of the first frame. The quarter also saw junior Lindsay Lonigro (Deerfield, Wis.) pick up her first three-pointer of the game, which would go on to represent her 11th multi-triple performance as a Falcon.
Concordia battled back in the second quarter, as sophomore Ava Booth (Plymouth, Wis.) recorded a block to kick off a scoring stretch for the Falcons that saw DeBauch and senior Erin Viergutz (Clintonville, Wis.) find points in the paint. MSOE created separation in the minutes that followed, building a nine-point advantage, but DeBauch collected a pair of layups in the final minute of the half to pull Concordia within six.
The Falcons opened the second half strongly, as a Viergutz block led to a field goal by Booth that shrunk the lead to four points. The Raiders were able to prevent Concordia from pulling any closer, but a Lonigro three-pointer later in the quarter once again brought the Falcons within striking distance at 38-42.
Ultimately, MSOE managed to fend off the comeback attempt, building the lead back up to ten points by the conclusion of the quarter. Despite a fourth quarter that saw Concordia force multiple turnovers, the Raiders were able to secure a 63-47 victory.
The Falcons will be back in action to celebrate Senior Day on Saturday, February 10 against the 8-14 Lakeland Muskies.
