Hafemann named CoSIDA Academic All-District

MEQUON, Wis. – Emily Hafemann was named to the 2019-20 CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team, announced by CoSIDA on Thursday afternoon.

"Emily is very deserving of this honor," head coach Stacey Brunner-Jones said. "She is a very commendable young woman and is an outstanding student with a 4.0 gpa as a nursing major and a leader on our basketball team. She has very high standards for herself and sets lofty goals, which she continually meets. Her success on and off the court will allow her to do many great things in her professional career after she graduates next year. This academic award is a testament to the quality of student-athletes we have here at Concordia University Wisconsin."

A junior from Hales Corners, Wisconsin, Hafemann is earning the honor for the first time in his career. She started and played in all 24 games this season and leads the Falcons in scoring at 13.4 points per game on 45.5 percent shooting. The guard is also shooting 37.0 percent (27-of-73) from outside the 3-point line, to go along with 3.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game and a 1.4 assist-to-turnover ratio. Hafemann has scored in double-figures 17 times this season and four times surpassed the 20-point plateau. Hafemann scored a career-high 24 points on 8-of-18 shooting (7-of-9 free throws) on January 28 in a home win over Dominican.

Hafemann has a 4.00 grade-point average, with a degree in nursing.

District VI is composed of schools from Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
