ACHA Hockey Had an Amazing Season

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin ACHA men's hockey team posted an amazing season in the 2022-23 campaign.

The Falcons shattered the school record with a 32-8-1 record. They also finished NCHC play undefeated for the first time in program history at 10-0 to claim the first-ever conference regular season title in program history.

Concordia Wisconsin claimed the Mequondulac Cup for the first time in program history with an 8-6, 4-3 sweep over Marian in November. The 4-3 victory also landed on Mental Health Awareness Night, where the Blue and White joined a community-wide effort to raise awareness for mental health.

CUW clinched the NCHC regular season title with a 5-3 victory at No. 21 DePaul in January.

The Falcons clinched a spot in the ACHA Division II National Tournament with a pair of victories over Wisconsin and a 4-3 overtime victory over Minnesota.

CUW went 2-1 in pool play with victories over Florida Gulf Coast and Dakota College at Bottineau. The lone loss came to the eventual national champion, Massachusetts.

The Blue and White brought in many honors this spring. Ian Malcolmson was named the ACHA Division II National Player of the Year, named to the ACHA Division II All-Athletic Team, and the ACHA Division II Central Region Player of the Year. Alex Way also joined Malcolmson on the All-Central Region Team.

The Falcons look to make a splash again in the 2023-24 season.
